ACTIVIST TRAINING
FRIDAY 29 FEBRUARY – SUNDAY 2 MARCH 2008
Activist training has been booked for the above dates at a Youth Hostel in Stratford Upon Avon.
The venue is a 200 year old Georgian mansion house which sits in 3 acres of it’s own grounds in a quiet village 2½ miles from Stratford.
The hostel also has off road parking facilities for motorcycles. Within the local vicinity are 3 public houses and a small number of shops.

The accommodation is a non smoking establishment and alcohol is only permitted in the dining room/café area when meals are being eaten. This is on a BYO (bring your own) basis. On the ground floor there is a games room, lounge with TV and a small shop.
Sleeping is in bunk rooms of between 2 and 10 beds with bedding and pillows. All rooms have screened off wash basins. In addition showers and toilets are available on every floor.
Meals have been booked on a full board basis and consist of:
Friday night (6.30pm to 7.30pm*) – 3 course meal with vegetarian option.
- Saturday morning (7.30am to 9.00am) – buffet breakfast
- Saturday lunch – sandwiches, fruit, tea/coffee etc
- Saturday evening (6.30pm to 7.30pm) – 3 course meal with vegetarian option.
- Sunday Morning (7.30am – 9.00am) – buffet breakfast.
Tea/coffee breaks will be provided throughout the day.
* The dining area will stop serving at 7.30pm. If you are arriving after this time, please inform us at the time of booking so that we can try to make alternative arrangements.
Training times will be Saturday 9am – 5pm and Sunday 9am – 12 noon.
Training is expected to consist of:
How MAG works (board, NC, central office and FEMA)
- Campaigns e.g. Bikers are Voters
- How Local Government works
- Theory & Practical - How to prepare yourself to meet a MP, MEP or councillor
- Recruiting members: - Being the face of MAG at events, shows and clubs
- Setting up and running a MAG group
- Events & fundraising
A cheque deposit of £20 made payable to MAG UK is required to secure your place.
The cheque will be returned on the weekend of the training.
Failure to attend the training, without prior notice so that the place can be allocated to someone else will result in the cheque being cashed.
