Driving Licence Directive – Still Time Left to Lobby – Calling London

There is still time left to lobby MEPs who sit on the TRAN Committee (Transport and Tourism) in the European Parliament.

The next TRAN Committee meeting on the 22nd November will be voting on amendments as reported in full in the last issue of Network.

The full text and lobby is HERE

MAG Activists in the North West, Yorkshire, South East and Scotland have been very active.

However we still need a response from:

Robert Evans – London MEP - Socialist Group in the European Parliament

robertevansmep@btclick.com
robert.evans@europarl.europa.eu
robertevansmep@yahoo.co.uk

Postal Address :

[Name of MEP]
Altiero Spinelli Building
European Parliament
60 Rue Wiertz
B-1047 Brussels
Belgium

Check out HERE if you’re not sure you are in his constituency.

This the last chance to influence the Directive before it goes to the European Parliament for its Second Reading in December (12th).

Depending on the outcome in the TRAN Committee we will have a further lobby of ALL MEPS in the run up to the Second Reading.

Please forward all replies urgently to

TO THE EMAIL ARMY – More on the Driving Licence Directive

Issued 30th October 2006

All

A big thank you to those of you who have lobbying Ashley Mote MEP for the South-East England.

Mr Mote has been inundated with letters and emails to the point that he is not answering standard emails.

He has contacted me directly to assure MAG that he has spoken against and voted against the 3rd Driving Licence Directive and raised the issue with the European Commission.

He will vote against it on every opportunity.

However with the vote on the amendments in the TRAN committee on the 22nd November, his busy schedule means that he can not always attend.

So well done to those that have written to him, even if you did not receive a reply, it has enabled a response.

To retain Mr Motes support I would ask, if you are in the South East Region to stop lobbying this MEP.
