GENERAL SECRETARY
FEMA is the Brussels-based Non-Governmental Organisation representing riders' interests within the European Union institutions and the United Nations agencies.
We are looking for a dynamic individual (m/f) to join the FEMA Secretariat. The full-time job will be located in Brussels and will involve a 6 months trial period.
MAIN TASKS
Representing the interests of riders with the European Union institutions on developments in European Community legislation and policy impacting motorcycling.
Monitoring and analysis of regulatory and policy developments, advising member national organisations on their implications, supporting campaigns of the national member organisations in relation to proposed EC policy and legislation.
Drafting clear reports on regulatory and policy issues.
Drafting position papers.
Managing the Secretariat's communication with the Member Organisations, the institutions and the media.
Supervising a small team operating in an international environment.

WE ASK FOR
PROFILE
Either university degree or relevant working experience at an equivalent level.
A practising motorcycle or scooter rider.
Fluency in English, any other language is an asset.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
Ability to understand and resolve cultural differences.
Skills in dealing with the media.
Good computer skills.
Willingness to occasionally work abroad and at weekends.
EXPERIENCE
Ideally: working for a riders' organisation professionally or as a volunteer.
Knowledge of the EU decision-making procedures.
Professional experience in the EU institutions and/or lobbying field is an advantage.
Experience in a Non-Governmental Organisation or in the Transport sector is an asset.
