Right Hand Sidecars Ban in UK
Following Bob Tomlins (FEMA) representations and paper on this issue, the matter is being followed at the British level, through amendments to the national single vehicle type-approval regulation.
MAG UK and the BMF have been consulted and the DfT are at a stage suggesting the simple fitment of a lower powered light on the side car with a “defused” lens.
This will not come under lighting regulations that affect height and width of twin headlight systems.
At this stage this position looks acceptable to all concerned and MAG will be meeting with the DfT and BMF.
