TRIKE INSURANCE NOW AVAILABLE
After many months of discussion and investigating MAG Direct (Motorcycle
Direct) have come up with something that a few Members have been asking
for and that is Multi-Bike policy and also Trike facility.
The above will not be dealt with through MAG Direct but through Central where a special form will be sent out from here. The reason for this is it is a fairly small market because now there is in reality only ONE underwriter who is interested in Multi-Bike facilities (no it is not Norwich Union) and there needs to be some controls in place. Motorcycle Direct do not and never have done this product but will do it for MAG so please do not F**K it up. The biggest problem before has been people have insured a couple of pieces of junk and then stuck a new R1 on the policy which they then have made a claim - big mistake. Anyway just so we all get it right if anybody out there asks or complains that we do not do MB get them to contact us at Central. Please do not advertise this otherwise we will have all and sundry on to us. Central now has forms for Members who have trikes and are unable to insure them at present. As with the above the forms can be faxed or posted to MAG Direct for a personal quote and once again they do not provide this facility for any of their other 100,000 clients ONLY MAG As with the above don't give me shit about the rights and wrongs or who can and who can't be insured through MAG Direct. There are other things that are in the pipeline at their HQ in Thornbury which are going to benefit MAG (UK) and our Members (at least most of them) - yes I have a long hot and tiring day sorry about that but then we can just try. Lastly I am pleased to say that following Independent Insurance going into liquidation MAG Direct (Motorcycle Direct) do not and never have dealt with Independent so all our policy holders are safe and sound. What I would ask though is if you or any of our Members are insured with Independent Insurance please check with your broker ASAP because there are some serious problems. The protection that you think you have may not really be there as they (liquidator) will only pay out 90% and even now if you have an accident and go to a body shop to have your bike repaired under you fully comprehensive policy you will get told to go away because they may not get paid. The bottom line is check to make sure you were not insured with them and if you were ring up your broker tomorrow otherwise you could be in the proverbially. If as one of our Members was told by a very well known broker "there is no problem you are OK" - GET IT IN WRITING. Regards Henry |
