ONE FOR US - A FIVER FOR YOU!
Announcing the scheme MAG National Chairman Neil Liversidge said, "We have an excellent core membership, many of whom are avid recruiters for MAG. We want to reward their hard work and initiative. We also want to encourage other members to emulate their success. Our aim is to build MAG into the biggest motorcyclists' organisation in Europe." To qualify for the recruitment bonus the existing Member will enter their name and membership number on the special Standing Order form. Once received at Central the standing order will be processed and forwarded to the new Member's bank for payment. Once the membership fee is received at MAG Central MAG will open a 'Recruiter's Account' on behalf of the member originating the application. We will credit the recruiter's account with a £5 bonus. Each quarter the accumulated bonus will be paid to the recruiter by cheque. Recruiters will only qualify for the bonus where those they recruit sign a standing order mandate. To simplify administration and reduce costs MAG needs to move as many renewals as possible over to standing order. MAG-affiliated clubs will also receive the same bonus for each full individual member they recruit. In this way clubs can boost their own club funds. Individuals and clubs may if they prefer opt to receive tickets for the MAG National Annual Raffle instead. Each year MAG raffles one of the most desirable bikes on the market. This year's bike is the superb Yamaha Fazer 1000. We will however assume that the recruiter requires a cash payment unless we are advised otherwise when they open their recruitment account. The recruitment bonus will not apply to stand staff as the efficient staffing of MAG stands at events relies on a division of duties. All staff on MAG stands are equally valued and it would not be fair to put some in a position where they were able to earn substantially more than others committing an equal amount of time and effort in a different capacity. This scheme is very much aimed at encouraging groups and individuals to recruit at a local level who want to get their friends and acquaintances to join MAG - the Leading Riders' Rights Organisation. The bonus is only payable for new recruits or for re-recruiting those that lapsed more than 6 months ago. The standing order forms will be in StreetBiker, on our Web Site [PDF version of mandate form - NB this prints out best] and obtainable from Central Office. MAG is obliged, if requested by the Inland Revenue, to provide details of payments made in cash or kind. Please contact Henry Marks at MAG Central should you have any queries relating to the operation of this scheme.
