New Innovative Motorcycle Anti-Theft Device

Most of us carry U-lock, chain or disc locks (or any combination of the three) with us to prevent our precious motorcycle from being stolen. It has always been one of these three anti-theft devices that we could use to lock up our bike. Disc locks are the smallest, while chains are usually the most difficult to carry. U-locks are probably one of the safest anti-theft devices.

Now, thanks to France based Lockfree, there's a fourth type of lock, the To-Clamp.

Small and easy to stow away when riding your motorcycle, the To-Clamp is positioned within seconds. The clamp is used on your rear chain wheel, so quite easy to install. By clamping the chain, the motorcycle cannot be moved unless it's lifted. The only thing you can use against lifting the bike is chaining it to an unmovable object, so not always practical.

Of course if you don't have a chain (like most BMWs), then you can't use this device.

If you check Lockfree's website (all in French I'm afraid), you'll see a video on how fast it can be installed.

The clamp will go on sale end of this year, expect a price of about €130.

It's an interesting device, since it doesn't take up much space when not in use, and can be installed in seconds. It would seem that it offers a good protection.
