WHICH LITTLE LIAR SAID CAMERA PARTNERSHIPS WERE NOT ABOUT RAISING REVENUE FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT?

This little gem from Nottinghamshire Road Casualty Reduction Partnership steering group minutes of 11 March 2005:

Agenda Item 7:

Treasurer's Updates FOI Status-Open Decision or Recommendation :

A handout showing the Partnerships 2004/05 budget was Provided.

Treasurer needed to know if there was any large expenditure in the system, which is outside the Operational Case.

In next years Operational Case there has to be a 5% surplus return to the Treasury.

The group were extremely concerned about this as it makes the Partnership appear as a money-making enterprise and prevents the Partnership from being able to say all costs are put back into its operation and therefore benefiting road safety.

Action- PP to raise issue at National Conference.
