Fatalities on British Roads in 2005
Fatalities of motorcyclists on British roads are generally presented by government as representing 1% of traffic and 20, 30 or 40 times greater than car occupants.
The purpose of this table is to suggest that this is not the case.
Accordingly, as highlighted in the table, motorcycles, scooters and mopeds represent 4.4% of vehicles on the road, and 17.8% of fatalities or 3 times less than car occupants.
