MAIDS

You may be wondering why MAG has not responded publicly to the Motorcycle Accidents In Depth Study (MAIDS) that was carried out by the Association of European Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM) and it's supporting partners, which included FEMA (Federation
of European Motorcyclists Associations).

The study was conducted over a three year period and comprised of the investigation of the causes of 921 accidents across Germany, France, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands, further data was collected in 923 cases, as a control sample, from riders not involved in
accidents.

To this end we have just completed an analysis of the report and have arranged to meet ACEM in order to ensure that a well-balanced, objective and unbiased snapshot of PTW accidents in the five countries studied can evolve from the research and following that, how
this can then be used positively relating to motorcycling in the UK.

The MAIDS Report can be downloaded at http://maids.acembike.org although you will need to register on the website.
