MAG Chairmanship Change

Motorcycle Action Group Chairman Nicky Basset-Powell has stood down from the post to which she was elected at the group's Annual Group Conference earlier this year.

Vice Chairman Aine Gale has assumed the Chairman's role pending elections at MAG's next AGC in April 2003.

Aine has been involved with MAG from its earliest days in 1973, and as the organisation's Western Regional Rep, brings a wealth of experience to the demanding role of steering the country's leading rider organisation. Aine has extensive experience of chairman's duties having chaired the Women's International Motorcycle Association (WIMA) for eight years.

On her departure Nicky Basset-Powell commented: "I have served the organisation with deep pride and could not have managed in recent months without the support of our Vice Chair Aine. I know that she is absolutely the best person to manage the organisation until the next AGC and recognise that she enjoys universal support."

Aine Gale said: "I have assumed the role of Chairman at a crucial time in MAG's history with challenging issues and exciting opportunities ahead. I intend to work with all parties to take the organisation forward to new levels of achievement of which I am confident our present team is capable."
