The Motorcycle Action Group announces that Henry Marks has resigned from his post of Chief Executive to pursue fresh challenges.
Henry was recruited at the end of 1998 and
rapidly fulfilled his primary task of bringing MAG's administration systems up to the required level of modernity and efficiency. A part of this involved managing the move of MAG's operating base
from Birmingham to Rugby.
Henry left MAG for one year at the end of 1999 to work for Amba Rescue, returning to employment with MAG from the beginning of 2001. Since that time Henry has worked on a
number of financial projects for MAG and has also lobbied effectively and vigorously in the interests of motorcyclists.
MAG Director Neil Liversidge who, as National Chairman recruited Henry said:
"I am certainly sorry to see Henry go but it is fair to say that Henry had achieved all his main aims and I can understand him wanting to seek out new and more rewarding challenges. Henry is an
incredibly talented and hardworking individual. I feel that our greatest joint achievement was the welding together of FEM and EMA to to form the pan-European riders' organisation FEMA, which is
commonly acknowledged as the most effective non-business lobbying force in the European Union. I hope that Henry will maintain his involvement in the Riders' Rights movement in general and with MAG
in particular."
MAG will be reshaping its secretariat to better cope with the new challenges facing MAG in the years ahead. This will involve reinforcing our specialist research and lobbying
capability with another lobbyist based in Rugby to work under the direction of Public Affairs Director Trevor Baird. MAG invites applications from Members interested in this post.
