Well, I've been out and about in the last couple of months. I went to the
Yorkshire Regional AGM in September. Aine Gale (Chair), Trevor Baird (Public Affairs) and I went up to observe. We had a fun time and it was good to meet some of the Yorkshire members.
I then took a holiday in Yorkshire in the week after the AGM. This "holiday" included visiting
Huddersfield MAG to say hello and also included doing the speech at the "Stormin' the Castle" run-out.
I went back to Newcastle at the end of October to chair the North Eastern Regional AGM. It was a good AGM and a new Regional Rep was elected.
I've been quite involved in my local MAG group activity because we have just voted in a new Rep and I've been giving him some guidance. We have also been working with the BMF
locally to get some movement on the local transport plan.
The new Reps' Handbook is still in production, but progress has been made.
Hopefully it will be available by Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, I get to miss my work's staff party because I am going to Leeds to
run a Reps' Training Programme at the end of November. I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth into the training sessions. Aine Gale is going to accompany me to Leeds, and
some of you may remember Clive Crocker from the Thames Valley Region. He used to give very amusing lectures on MAG and the media. He is also going to be part of the training
team. Mutchie is also going to attend.
