After years of blocking by the aforementioned industry minions, MAG has finally gained access to the All-party Parliamentary Motorcycle Group. Not only that, but in the interests of a
"constructive working relationship between all elements of a united motorcycle community" as MCIA employee Craig Clinch puts it in one of his motions to this year's MAG's AGC (See Motion 16 in the AGC
section of this issue) Henry has not only got MAG access seat but has also got access for the BMF and the MRA who represent retailers.
It has been a long running scandal that ordinary bikers had no voice on
this key body. Even more scandalous is the fact that ex-MAG employees who now work for the MCIA have tried so hard to keep us out. It's a pity they've forgotten that it was ordinary bikers in MAG that paid their
wages not so long ago, and gave them their start. They also seem to have forgotten that they wouldn't have their fat salaries, expense accounts and plush offices if it wasn't for the ordinary bikers who buy their
products. Here's hoping that the MCIA's lackeys can in future make a more positive contribution towards that "constructive working relationship" that they are pontificating about.
The MCIA needs a
good dose of reality. It might have its tail up at the moment with bike sales soaring but it's not that many years ago since it was flat on its back. Bikers pay their wages. It's time it remembered that.
