This questionnaire examines road safety from the perspective of motorcyclists in the UK and has been
developed to complement an in depth analysis of over 1000 motorcycle accidents which has already taken place as part of a project undertaken by Craig Bartle, a post graduate student studying for a
Masters degree in Social Research Methods. The questionnaire, which is supported by MAG, looks at rider’s experience and training as well as considering riding habits and rider’s opinions on
road safety.
For the project to be successful it is important that as many questionnaires as possible are completed. If you would like to help with the project I would be very grateful if you
and/or any other motorcyclists that you know could complete the attached questionnaire (which can be opened as a word document) and send it to:
Craig Bartle 117 Huntingdon Street Nottingham
NG1 3NG
by Monday 23 June 2003 to allow sufficient time for analysis. Earlier returns would, however, be very gratefully received! Alternatively the questionnaires could be completed on your
computer by highlighting rather than ticking the relevant boxes and typing responses when written answers are required. The completed questionnaire could then be e-mailed as an attachment to Craig.Bartle@nottingham.ac.uk
The findings from the questionnaire will be presented to MAG who I’m confident will find the data both
interesting and extremely useful. Please remember that no individuals or groups will be identified in the analysis and the questionnaire does not require you to supply your name or contact details unless
you feel you would like to. Accurate and truthful responses are the key to making this a successful project and all responses will be treated in the strictest confidence.
