Welcome to the latest edition of Network. It has been a while since the
last one, but it has been a busy couple of months. In April we had the Annual General Conference in the lovely town of Beverley in Yorkshire.
This was my first AGC sitting at the “Top Table” but I was pleased to be elected as NNCO as I had previously only been co-opted onto the National
Committee last June. Aine Gale was elected as Chairman, a role she has carried out since the previous Chairman’s resignation. Debbie Jones stood
down as National Clubs Liaison Officer, and Jan Hurley from North Wales has taken on the position. Later on in this issue you can read Jan’s open letter to the Clubs.
Myself and Trevor Baird also attended the National Bikesafe day in Warwickshire. This was a very interesting weekend. I was disappointed but not surprised to hear that most of the
police officers there were supportive of EVSC.
I attended a couple of Regional AGMs and also ran the Easter Egg Run and the Ginger Pussy Bike Show for South Herts MAG.
I went to Into the Valley for fun and the Welsh Show to work the MAG stand.
The new Rep’s Handbook is now online at http://reps-handbook.mag-uk.org and Dawn at
MAG Central Office will shortly be sending out the hardcopy to all reps along with a copy of the Rep’s CD.
On top of all that, I started my new job. So far, I’ve tried to be fired and I’ve offered my resignation, so I’m sure you can see that everything is going well.
Trevor Baird, Director of Public Affairs, will be telling you about the current political issues and Cathy Phillpotts has discovered some interesting websites for you to look at.
Bye for now. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down.
