Local Group Expansion Plan update

Wear Valley MAG are now established and after a few changes of venue are now firmly rooted (pun intended) at The Plantation, Howdon-le-wear, meeting every 1st & 3rd Tuesdays in the month.

Darlington MAG are due to launch on 21st July at the Tap & Spile, Darlington, followed by weekly meetings thereafter.

Newcastle MAG will be restarting towards the end of the summer, based in the centre of Newcastle. This will probably be kickstarted by Robin Straughan, NE Regional Rep although he will be looking for able and enthusiastic volunteers to help out. Give Robin a call if you would like to offer help and assistance.

Red Rose MAG is up and running! Everybody’s been really impressed with the level of enthusiasm at the first two Monday night meetings at the Nab’s Head pub, Samlesbury Bottoms. Both meetings were well attended, despite clashing with England vs Switzerland on the first night. There will be a meeting every Monday at 9pm, mainly just to keep it simple and avoid confusion – same pub, same time, every week!  Red Rose MAG scores its first victory !!!! - The University of Central Lancashire, in Preston, has informed its students that in future they will have to pay a £60 annual fee if they want to park on the campus. After a bit of lobbying, pointing out the “green credentials” of bikes, the Uni. have dropped plans for the charge. Good work!

New Forest of Dean MAG Group launched on 10th May

Monday 10th May also saw the first meeting of the new (never been one before) Medway MAG branch. They meet at The Beacon Court Pub, 128 Canterbury Street, Gillingham, Kent, every Monday at 8.30pm. Already this branch has held a number of rideouts, got a web site launched, products sorted out and a committee elected, not bad progress in two months.

The LGEP is a tremendous success and new groups are springing up all over the UK. MAG is on a roll !!!!

Keep the launch reports rolling in.
