Lobbying News

Parking on The Green
, and The Promenade, Hunstanton. After Meeting with Borough Council in August - decision has been made to ban
parking on The Promenade completely, and commence a £1 parking fee - March to October on The Green. Protest ride out against these decisions is to take place on 6 March 2004. Contact Reg Rep for details.

Public Car Parks, Thetford - currently awaiting response from Breckland District Council on number of motorcycle parking spaces available and the number of those alloted spaces which provide secure parking.

Bus Lane Campaign - Ian Bucknell (Political Officer) has received responses from 5 out of the 8 Norfolk MPs and 3 out of the 7 Suffolk MP's. Responses received from the County Councils, both have considered it, but no plans to allow PTWs in bus lanes at the moment. Councillors on the Borough Transport Commitees to be contacted and canvas their opinion.

Promotion of MAG - 'Regional Get Together' Meeting to commence weekly as of 12 Jan 04 - will include monthly guest and a monthly ride out. Aims of meeting: Meeting base for West Norfolk members as no current group exists as yet, attract new members, members
obtain the latest updates from the Regional Rep - instead of waiting for mailouts.
