ROADWORTHINESS TESTING (RWT)

Staying with Sweden, a new law will come into force on the 1st April 2004.

It means that riders will have to RWT their motorcycles much less in the future.

The first test for a new motorcycle will be made after four years after the first date of registration instead of two, and thereafter every second year.

At present motorcycles older than ten yearsmust be tested every year but with the new law the RWT has been extended to every second year.

In Euros this means that motorcycle owners in Sweden save 2 040 000 per year in RWT costs.

Not bad for being introduced on Aprils fools.
