MOTO KL 2006 UPDATE

A new direction has now been formalised.

Committee Members Buster & Jonathan Chapman have offered Moto KL the following facilities.

A purpose built track has been built at Norfolk Arena Speedway Track (Kings Lynn).

Male/Female Showers and Changing Rooms have been built.

A Classroom has been built.

A Storage Area has been built for all bike and equipment storage.

Hosting of the Project on Norfolk Arena Website Insurance Cover.

Mechanical repairs and safety checks Training of riders and practice sessions - initially on a monthly basis (each Team will have a 2 hour slot).

Races will take place on Lynn Stars Speedway Team Race Nights (before the speedway starts) - thus giving the mini moto teams real racing experience before a full capacity crowd.

A League is to be created especially for the Project Use of all the above facilities are being offered free for a trial period - possibly for this whole season, to enable teams to establish themselves and obtain sponsorship with a future view to paying a League membership fee.

Moto KL has agreed: A re-launch of the project - with an Open Day at Norfolk Arena.

The project will be open to all groups ..e.g. youth clubs, community groups (not just schools and one MAG team as before) Teams will be made up of 6 riders to attend the monthly practice sessions (for large teams - who will ride on the day will be decided by the Team perhaps on a points system - this is a matter for the Teams to sort out themselves.)

£4,400 of the Project funds will be used to purchase new identical bikes and all necessary
safety equipment which will be kept at Norfolk Arena. (Riders will have to provide their own boots) New Information Packs are currently being designed.

Apart from being a Committee Member attending monthly Meetings, I have agreed to be Team Administrator for the Project. This will involve dealing with all enquiries, sending out information packs, enrolling teams, and booking practice sessions for all the Teams at Norfolk Arena.

The Moto KL Project has finally obtained its launch goal.

Thanks should be given to the dedication of the Borough Council, Norfolk Constabulary, Youth Offender Team, and Norfolk Arena and various other parties who kept the Project going forward.
