MEP Ride 2007
In September the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG UK) headed to Europe for the 11th Annual MEP motorcycle ride from the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
Focus
The ride focussed on three issues: The presentation of FEMA’s revised “European Agenda for Motorcycle Safety” - The European Commission’s Green Paper on Urban Transport - and to draw attention to the initial rejection of a European Infrastructure Directive by the TRAN Committee in the European Parliament.
Essential Event
The event has become an essential part of MAG’s lobbying and is one of the most popular events for European parliamentarians. The event not only presents the serious side of motorcycling but significantly gives them an opportunity to experience the fun of motorcycling.”

the heart & soul of biking
Since 1996 the MEP Motorcycle Ride has become an annual event, bringing together motorcycling citizens from all over Europe with their elected representatives.
The MEP Ride gives elected representatives and various other “non” motorcyclists the opportunity to experience the pleasure of motorcycling, while at the same time to better understand motorcycle related issues.

Federation of European Motorcyclists Associations
In June 1988, national road riding motorcyclists' rights organisations from France, Germany, UK, Austria, Greece, Italy and Luxembourg gathered in Strasbourg to protest against unfair European motorcycle legislation and formed FEM
FEMA
On 1st January 1998, FEM and EMA (the European Motorcyclists Association) merged to form the Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations (FEMA) to defend and promote the interests of riders.
Representation
FEMA made up of 23 national riders' rights organisations is the only European riders’ rights organisation with a permanent presence in Brussels, concentrating its efforts on motorcycle and rider related matters.
